Laser liposculpture is performed with a medical equipment that conducts a ray of light of specific wavelength through an optical fiber which is introduced into the fatty tissue to be treated.
The emission of the laser ray heats the water of the dermis and fat creating a metabolic stimuli that generate new collagen. It also produces destruction of fat without affecting neighboring tissues such as blood vessels and nerves. This means that there is much less trauma, which means faster recovery and less bruising. The thermal stimulus also produces collagen retraction and generation of new fibers, which also improves skin tighthening. It is therefore an excellent alternative for patients who have important flaccidity and skin excess in the abdomen but do not wish to undergo the wounds, ugly scars, the long disability and the risks of an abdominoplasty.
It is ideal for the treatment of any area that shows flaccidity enough such as the inner arms, thighs, back, waist, cheeks and jowls. The laser liposculpture allows the skin to adhere to its new contour and the result in the handling of the silhouette is excellent, since it facilitates the surgeon to perform a liposuction on areas where the fat is more difficult to aspirate, with the achievement of best results. These results confers an appereance of greater tonicity both on skin and muscles as they look betterly defined.
The procedure is always done in surgery rooms, but when the treatment includes only a very small area and low volume, there is no need for general anesthesia and then it could be done under assisted local tumescent anesthesia.
