Dermabrasion consists in the flattening of the surface of the skin by means of the abrasion of its external layers, which is made with an electric device that has a handpiece with a rapidly rotating brush. Then new layers of skin grow to replace those removed. Ideal for the treatment of deep acne scars. It can be associated with chemical substances -Quimiodermabrasion- or with liquid nitrogen -Criodermabrasion- to achieve greater depth and better penetration.
This procedure gets very nice results on a properly choosed patient with the proper skin type. It is done on surgery´s room and it does not require general anesthesia but local anesthesia and sedation. Although the results are very good, it is an aggressive treatment that has a long recovery time from seven to ten days, avoiding completely sun exposure.
